Finding the Pirates

Where They Played

Where Ya From

"A Pirate is only as good as the venues at which he plays." Winston Churchill

So, let's say you're planning on making the biggest mistake of your life by hiring the Celtic Pirates to play at an unchaperoned birthday party for your 17 year old daughter and her 20 closest friends.

You of course want some sort of references in addition to the note from the Pirates stating what reputable young men they are (signed of course by Chuck and Jim's mothers!)

A serious question is: Where have they played?
(A less serious question is:) What were the promoters of these events THINKING????

Boston College Club
St. Patrick's Day 2003

Half Moon Festival 2002
The only thing better than getting to warm up the crowd Saturday night at the coffee house for Fr. Guido Sarducci, comedian John Scarpelli, was playing for the throngs of people in the main field Sunday at high noon from the main stage! The clouds threatened but with the help of the hundreds singing along with us, we quickly dispelled those clouds and coaxed the sun back out with some lively Irish tunes!

Half Moon Festival 2001
Ok, so maybe there wasn't flooding (except in Chuck's tent!) but the rains were coming down pretty hard! Then when famed Irish fiddler, PV O'Donnell opted to play the coffeehouse instead of the main stage, the Pirates opted to follow him up with a rousing 45 minute set of ballads, traditions, and pub tunes. Even PV stayed to tap his toes to a few tunes!

Cape Cod Festival 2000
Bourne, MA
2 amplified microphones and 2 finely tuned guitars were all the Pirates needed to make that campground field sound like an Irish seaport!

Sober in the Sun Festival 2000
Sober in the Sun Festival 2001
Sober in the Sun Festival 2002
Year after year the Pirates bring their music and their energy to the stages of this festival!
