...and so now you ask, 'What is a Celtic Pirate?' and what do they do? Well...
The Celtic Pirates is a musical experience which play mostly traditional Irish and Scottish ballads and lively bar room songs! The boys figured it twas easier to start with traditional tunes since 1)everyone knew them and liked to sing along and 2) they were 'free' to copy and change and downright steal. Jim is able to take even the simplest of tunes and weave it into an extraordinary cacophony of melodies and harmonies intermixed with superb guitar, mandolin, and tin whistle work. Now for some self-effacing humor.

Jim has movie star looks...like Lassie. Even the bravest camera was quaking at the challenge of capturing his remarkable physical qualities! When not in prison for defiling statues of Lord Nelson, Jim is frantically attempting to be the first guitar player ever to effectively play while balancing a lit cigarette and a hot cup of black coffee. When Jim first played a tape of the mandolin playing for Chuck, he was awestruck! Then Jim told him it was not him playing! Since that time, Jim has received many a writeup regarding his mandolin skills:
"Jimmy Carpenter is by far the best Mandolin player I have ever heard."
